Pre-Writing Skills
This week our topis Monarchy’s around the world. As part of learning about this out Rising Fours have been looking at our currency. We have been using playdough and lose parts. Playdough is such a great resource to encourage pre-writing skills and fine motor skills. The children can manipulate the playdough, squash, pinch, and roll the playdough, which develops finger strength and the pincer grip, in turn, this will help with writing.
Adding in our currency gives us opportunities to discuss mathematical concepts such as more/less, heavy/light and numbers. As well as sharing our knowledge on the Queen and her role in our country.
