Woodlands Also and Woodlands Barnes Lane went to visit the Always Plastic Free Shop in Warsash!
The Always Plastic Free Shop sells only products that are made from recycled plastic or made from natural materials. Woodlands Also have been making Eco bricks with their parents at home and today we took them all down to the shop! An EcoBrick is a plastic bottle, stuffed to the brim with used, clean and dry plastic, things like single use carrier bags, fruit packaging, sweet packets and anything that can’t easily be recycled.
The bottle is screwed closed and then used as building materials to create insulated structures and even colourful furniture. We met the shop owner Lisa who taught us all about how we can reduce our plastic use!
We told Lisa all the wonderful things we are doing at Nursery to help look after our planet such as, making our own glitter and creating our first natural art rooms! We explained that we took part in the Great Big School Clean up and held our own Woodlands litter pick.
The children listened so nicely as Lisa explained all the different products she sells and why reducing plastic use is so important to saving our animals! We then had an opportunity to spend our pocket money on some natural goodies!!
If your ever in Warsash – be sure to pop into the shop and say hi to Lisa!!
