Our staff at both settings have undertaken Children’s Mental Health and Well Being training, this is a really important topic to us at Woodlands, particularly in the current climate. By providing our children with the tools they need now to manage and understand their feelings, we hope they will be more resilient as adults.
Some activities they have been able to participate in are: yoga and breathing exercises, cloud watching, quiet mindfulness time to discuss our feelings, buddy breathing, baby massage, creating quieter zones in our play spaces.
There are so many benefits to this kind of play, not only does it give the children opportunities to reflect, slow down their breathing but also time to connect with their peers and teachers.
